The WisdomApp is now live to the public. Full disclosure, I was lucky enough to be invited as a beta tester during development. So what is it, and how does it work?
A better way to mentor and communicate
Upfront, let me say that I have tried many of the current audio discussion tools. They kept my attention for less than a day due to all the noise.
The WisdomApp caught my attention when they reached out to me during the beta period, and I was curious. I prepared myself for another disappointment of audio noise with people competing for attention.
I was pleasantly surprised. I tried the app and found that it gives the ability to present and control a conversation. But everyone I encountered was polite, insightful, and respectful. A rare find on the Internet communities lately.
How does it work?
Once signed up in the app (it is free), you have a couple of options. You can start listening to people currently streaming live and, if you wish, participate in the conversation if the host allows it, or discover previous streams and listen to them.
Either way, you are in control. You can listen, or you can request to be a guest on the host’s stream with the click of a button. If you are accepted, you join the stream and can communicate with the host.
Honestly, this is the best part and the way to get the most from the platform.
I have found people discussing any subject you can think of and have participated in discussing the topics with them. This is where the mentoring part comes in.
If you like what you hear, you can follow the person and get notified when they go live or catch up on their previous talks.
In a recent stream, I was honored to have three people guest in a discussion, and we had a fantastic dive into how you can turn failure into success. I truly appreciated the contributions from the guests.
If you are a podcaster like myself, you can download the recordings and turn them into content, a two-for-one win right there!
Get involved and start discovering
I hope that the platform and the users continue to embrace the ideas that drive it to be different from other social noise. I, for one, am thoroughly enjoying being a contributor and hope you will join me.
The emphasis on content over social popularity is most welcome. If you stay honest with yourself and your listeners, we all benefit.
If you would like an example, follow if you like what you hear.
